1. Acceptance of Terms

By using IChingStyle (the "App"), you confirm that you have read, understood, and agreed to these Terms of Service in full. If you do not agree, please discontinue use of the App.

2. Service Description

The App provides hexagram casting, hexagram interpretation, history tracking, and AI-assisted interpretation features for the purpose of learning about and experiencing the I Ching tradition.

2.1 Nature of divination content

All casting results and interpretations provided by the App are based on the I Ching tradition and are intended as cultural, entertainment, and study reference material. They do not constitute investment, medical, legal, personal, or any other significant decision-making advice. You are responsible for your own decisions, and the App is not liable for any consequences that arise from your reliance on hexagram results.

3. Acceptable Use

3.1 You agree to:

• Not use the App for any activity that violates the laws of your jurisdiction
• Not attempt to decompile, reverse engineer, or circumvent the App's code or encryption
• Not abuse the AI interpretation feature (e.g., automated high-frequency requests, quota circumvention)
• Not use the App's results to provide paid divination services to third parties under the App's name

3.2 Rate limits

To preserve service stability and cultural reverence, the App enforces the following limits on daily casts:

• Daily base casts: 1
• With Affinity Casting (缘占) enabled: 3 additional daily casts
• AI interpretation: quota varies by your subscription status
• Casting time window: 4:00–23:00 daily

4. Subscriptions and Purchases

4.1 Trial

New users receive a 21-day AI interpretation trial: one free AI interpretation per day during the trial. The trial cannot be paused, accumulated, or transferred. Trial progress is stored only on this device; each device tracks its own 21-day window. Uninstalling the App or switching devices will restart the trial.

4.2 Subscriptions

• Monthly: auto-renews every 30 days
• Yearly: auto-renews every 365 days
• Active subscriptions grant a higher AI interpretation quota (see in-app details)
• Subscriptions auto-renew unless canceled at least 24 hours before the renewal date
• Subscription management and cancellation are handled by your App Store / Google Play account
• Price, currency, and billing frequency: shown on the App Store / Google Play purchase page for your region at checkout; please confirm before subscribing

4.3 Refunds

The App is a digital service. Refund requests are handled by Apple App Store / Google Play under their respective platform policies. We do not process refunds directly.

4.4 Redemption codes

Redemption codes follow a one-code-per-device binding policy:

• A code is bound to the device on which it is first activated; it cannot be activated on a different device thereafter
• Code validity period and reusability are determined by the code's own attributes
• Codes are non-transferable, non-resellable, and not redeemable for cash

4.5 Price changes

We reserve the right to adjust subscription prices. Price changes take effect on the next renewal of existing subscribers and will be communicated in advance via in-app notice or email where applicable.

5. AI Interpretation Disclaimer

AI interpretations are generated by a third-party large language model (currently DeepSeek; subject to change). The output may contain errors, inaccuracies, or interpretations that diverge from traditional I Ching scholarship. Treat AI output as a modern, vernacular reference aid rather than a definitive scholarly conclusion. For specific hexagram texts, line texts, and the Image and Judgment commentaries, defer to the traditional source texts bundled in the App.

6. Intellectual Property

The App's code, design, icons, copy, and bundled modern-vernacular interpretation content are the copyright of the App's developer. The original I Ching text and historical commentaries are in the public domain. You may share screenshots of casting results on social media, but you may not redistribute the App's resources for commercial purposes.

7. Service Changes and Termination

We reserve the right to:

• Adjust, suspend, or terminate features (e.g., the specific LLM provider for AI interpretation)
• Restrict or terminate service for users who violate these Terms
• Suspend service due to force majeure (power outage, network failure, regulatory changes, etc.)

8. Limitation of Liability

To the maximum extent permitted by applicable law, we disclaim all liability for any direct, indirect, incidental, or consequential damages (including but not limited to data loss, lost profits, or adverse decision outcomes) arising from your use of or inability to use the App. Our total liability shall not, under any circumstance, exceed the amount you paid for the App in the preceding 12 months.

9. Governing Law

These Terms are governed by and construed in accordance with the laws of the developer's place of establishment. Disputes will first be addressed through good-faith negotiation; if unresolved, they will be submitted to a court of competent jurisdiction at the developer's place of establishment.

This choice does not limit the territorial application of regional data protection laws to local users.
